Hosting pages & files
Turn an HTML file or a document into a live, shareable link — no deploy, no server.
Host an HTML page
Generated a page with Claude or exported one from a tool? Upload the single .html file and it goes live instantly at a branded URL like usercontent.alterlink.app/my-page. Your scripts, styles, and animations run exactly as written — it's your page, served full-fidelity. Pick a custom name or take a random one, preview before publishing, and swap the content anytime. The link never changes.
Host a file
Upload a PDF, image, Word/Excel/PowerPoint doc, or text file (up to 25 MB each) and get a permanent link at usercontent.alterlink.app/f/my-file. Images and PDFs open right in the browser; documents download cleanly. Share the link anywhere — no account needed to view.
Storage & quota
Every account gets a shared storage pool across both hosted pages and files — 50 MB on the free plan, scaling up with paid tiers. Your dashboard shows exactly how much you've used. Delete anything to free space; the link stops working immediately.
How we keep it safe
Hosted content is untrusted by design, so we isolate it instead of trusting it:
- Isolated origin. Pages and files are served from a separate, cookieless domain and HTML runs inside a sandboxed frame with no access to your alterlink session. A hosted page can never read your account, cookies, or another user's data.
- Virus scanning. Every uploaded file is scanned for malware before it is ever made public. Anything flagged is quarantined and never served.
- Real content checks. We verify a file's actual contents match its type, so a disguised executable can't sneak in as a “PDF.”
- Not indexed. Hosted pages and files are marked no-index, so they won't show up in search engines.
- Immutable links. A published URL can never be repointed — what you shared is what visitors get.
